Cooperative Education (Co-ops)

Cooperative education is a multi-semester program which enables students to combine academic classroom learning with practical, paid, on-the-job experience before graduation.

There are two major scheduling options:

  1. The traditional alternating schedule requires that a student alternate a semester of academic study with a semester on the job. A student is required to alternate for a minimum of two semesters.

  2. The parallel schedule allows the student to work part-time for a minimum of two semesters while attending classes.

Learn how to register to do a Co-op through the Career Experience Opportunities office of the Career Center.
