Mock Interview Mentors

The Career Center Mock Interview Mentor Program is a paid internship and leadership experience that provides students the opportunity to gain professional experience by researching and conducting mock interviews. The Mock Interview Program is a service for students and recent alumni to practice interview skills and receive feedback on their performance.  The objective of the program is to provide a quality, professional mock interviewing experience and enhance students’ professional communication.

What Does a Mock Interview Mentor (MIM) Do?

Mock Interview Mentors (MIMs) facilitate in-person, phone, or Zoom mock interviews for current FSU students and recent alumni.

A Mock Interview Mentor (MIM) Intern will be responsible for:

  • Executing 5-7 mock interviews per week for undergraduate students, graduate students and recent alumni
  • Tailoring specific mock interview questions based on submitted resumes or personal statements
Some industries and job functions may require research in order to provide a quality mock interview experience
  • Assisting the Career Center during large recruitment and student engagement events.

What are the internship Time Requirements?

MIMs can select either an 8, 10 or 12 hour-per-week internship depending on the students weekly schedule and/or if academic credit is desired (NOTE: academic credit is optional and varies by college).  If academic credit is not an option through an academic college, Mock Interview Mentors will enroll in the Experience Recognition Program offered through the Career Center.
