Describe the steps you took to obtain your internship/research opportunity/fellowship.
During my senior year at FSU, I joined the ProfessioNole Mentor program as a mentee. I was looking to make connections in Jacksonville and become more involved in the city that I planned to move to after graduation. I was matched with Jessica Murfin (President of the Jacksonville Seminole Club), who then connected me with Becca Lucio (Vice President of JSC). I began assisting Becca with social media updates and email campaigns. When an internship position became available at Becca's company (S&P USA Ventilation Systems), she suggested that I apply. I was hired a couple weeks later!
