Top Tips For Success:
- Update and print your résumé - Tailor your résumé for the industry you're interested in and bring multiple copies. Keep it clean, clear, and concise. For résumé review and FREE résumé printing, stop by the first floor of the Dunlap Success Center. MORE INFO AND HOURS
- Research attending employers - Check the list of registered companies on NOLENETWORK on the Job Fair event page. Make a shortlist of those you're most interested in. Learn what they do and what roles they’re hiring for so you can ask informed questions.
- Practice your pitch - Prepare a 30-second intro that includes your name, major, career interests, and what you're looking for. Practice ahead of time and prepare for what to say even AFTER your pitch! Have questions? Get in contact with your CAREER LIAISON.
- Dress professionally - First impressions count! Wear business or business casual attire depending on the event. Check out our CLOTHING CLOSET for FREE Professional clothing and guidance.
- Follow up after the fair - After meeting employers, send thank-you emails or LinkedIn requests to keep the connection going. It shows professionalism and can make you stand out. (This is to say, make sure you get a business card from the rep!)
