Career Advisor Graduate Assistants 
(All positions are filled for Fall 2023 – Spring 2024) 

Career Advisor Graduate Assistants provide career advising to students and community individuals, assist clients in locating career and educational planning information, interpret print and computer career assessment tools, develop skills in planning and conducting outreach presentations on career development topics, and create materials and resources related to career planning and job search topics.  Career advisors are required to attend weekly individual and/or group supervision check-ins, and attend a required Career Advisor Weekly Staff Meeting.

  • Classification: Master's or Doctoral
  • Majors Preferred: Career Counseling MS/EdS program, Combined Counseling Psychology and School Psychology PhD program or a related program within the Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems.
  • Hours per week: 10
  • Attend required Career Advisor Weekly Staff Meeting: Fridays, 1:30pm - 2:30pm
  • Length of appointment: semester-by-semester basis.

Additionally, there are Career Counseling scholarships and fellowships available to qualified students.

Graduate Assistant (GA) Positions
(All positions are filled for Fall 2023 - Spring 2024)

The Career Center periodically offers graduate assistantships associated with various aspects of The Career Center's range of services and programs. While graduate assistants have "unit" specific responsibilities, they are also expected to help with a variety of Career Center activities including career fair coverage, developing resource materials, outreach programs, career advising, teaching the Career Planning Class (SDS: 3340) and more. 

The Career Center Graduate Assistant positions are 20 hours per week and may include:

  • Marketing & Communication Graduate Assistant - Multimedia Design  (Position filled through Spring 2025)
  • Employer Relations Graduate Assistant (Position filled through Spring 2024)
  • Experiential Learning Graduate Assistant (Position filled through Spring 2024)

To be considered for a graduate assistantship, your academic department must agree to provide you with a tuition waiver.
