The FSU Career Center is dedicated to assisting employers connect with students for interviews, presentations, and the Employer-In-Residence program during social distancing. These services are still available to employers through Zoom technology. To get started, simply request in NoleNetwork or via email Heather Lazar (heather.lazar@fsu.edu), Senior Assistant Director of Employer Relations.
On-Campus Interviews Through Virtual Options
Some employers already have the capability to interview students via their own software platforms while others may need assistance to conduct virtual interviews. Either way you chose to interview students can be indicated in your NoleNetwork account.
OPTION 1: Your organization has a virtual interviewing platform, or you wish to conduct phone interviews:
1. Request the on-campus interview in NoleNetwork and include Virtual Interview or Phone Interview in the “Interview Schedule Name”.
2. Describe the interview as held virtually or by phone through your organization’s software platform in the “Interview Schedule Description”. List any specific hardware/software requirements for the applicant in the description.
a. Note: The “Interview Schedule Description” is viewable by students and Career Center staff.
3. Enter all other information as if hosting interviews on campus. A timeline will be given for students to apply and select time slots as well as completion of the job description(s).
4. Approval by Career Center staff will update the location to a Virtual Interview.
5. Send both the students and Career Center staff instructions on how candidates will access your preferred interviewing platform (1 – 3 days before interview date) allowing us to help students if necessary.
a. Call the students at the phone number listed on their emails if conducting phone interviews.
OPTION 2: Your organization NEEDS a platform for virtual interviews
The FSU Career Center is utilizing Zoom (https://zoom.us/) for virtual appointments/meetings with video. To conduct interviews utilizing our Zoom accounts both the recruiter and student will receive a unique link to access the meeting. Simply request an interview schedule following the instructions below:
1. Request the on-campus interview in NoleNetwork and include Virtual Interview in the “Interview Schedule Name”.
2. Indicate in the “Interview Schedule Description” that the “Interviews will be held virtually via Zoom”. Career Center staff will update the description to include instructions and will send a link to access the interview.
3. Enter all other information as if hosting interviews on campus. A timeline will be given for students to apply and select time slots as well as completion of the job description(s).
4. Approval by Career Center staff will update the location to a Zoom Virtual Interview.
5. Each student will receive a UNIQUE link to access the Zoom meeting after the schedule is finalized. You will also receive these links.
Information Sessions Virtual Options
OPTION 1: Your organization has a virtual interviewing platform
If your organization has the capability of hosting virtual webinars and/or information sessions, this is a great opportunity to connect with Florida State University students. Simply share with Career Center the event overview, date/time, link, and how students access the event. Via our NoleNetwork system and newsletters, we will notify students and faculty/staff of the University about this opportunity.
OPTION 2: Your organization NEEDS a platform
The FSU Career Center can facilitate a virtual information session through Zoom! You will need internet access, a camera, and a computer and we can create a meeting that will allow over 100+ students to join! You will be able to share your screen (ex. PowerPoint presentations), have a Q & A via chat, and more! Email Heather Lazar to arrange your session.

Virtual Employer Mock Interviews
To continue to build your brand with Florida State University students, you can participate in Virtual Employer Mock Interviews. These 30-minute appointments provide professional development to the Seminole community while allowing you to vet top talent to fill open internship and full-time roles. Mock interviews are also a great way to provide new hires professional interview experience.
Zoom or phone mock interviews can be scheduled around times that work best for your organization and can be tailored to any student population (examples include senior Accounting majors, sophomore Finance students, Education majors, etc.) Career Center staff will build your interview schedule, simply provide at least one-week of advance notice.
