Students can also request to meet with a service advisor by submitting a form online.
Document Your Service Learning through ServScript
To highlight their volunteer experiences, FSU students can post their service hours to their official academic transcript through participation in the ServScript program. Questions about the program can be emails to servscript@admin.fsu.edu .
Youth programs (offered through the Center for Leadership & Service) make a difference in the lives of students in grades K-12 served by Leon County Schools. All mentors gain valuable experiences: interacting with children; learning and applying tutoring skills in reading, writing, math, and science; and providing a much needed service in school site, as well as after-school programs.
Leadership
Getting involved in a registered student organization on campus offers students the opportunity to locate rewarding leadership roles while also gaining valuable experience, both of which employers are always looking for. FSU's Student Government Association (SGA) provides FSU students with representation, services, and advocacy within the University structure. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to explore opportunities with SGA or reach out to current members or staff to look for ways in which to get involved.
The Student Activities Center serves as a guide for Florida State students in molding and creating their FSU experience. The Student Activities Center believes that student involvement outside of the classroom contributes to important learning gains and a well-rounded college experience that prepares students for life after graduation.
Additionally, Florida State University has over 650 registered student organizations (RSOs) on campus. Many of these require student leadership to coordinate and organize, which helps students build their leadership skills.
The Community Ambassador Program selects key students to serve as liaisons between community partner agencies and Florida State University. Community Ambassadors assist in the recruitment, training, and organization of FSU students at local non-profit agencies.
