Students earn recognition in 1 of 2 ways:
Completion of the Career Center's Experience Recognition Program (ERP) satisfies the CoreFSU Scholarly and Formative Experience graduation requirement.
ERP: Certificate of Completion
ERP: Certificate of Completion allows all FSU degree-seeking students and alumni the opportunity to earn a certificate of recognition for engaging in experiential learning opportunities. There is no academic credit, cost, or tuition associated with ERP: Certificate of Completion.
FSU students must enroll in ERP: Certificate of Completion via their NoleNetwork account before the end of that FSU academic semester's end of the 7th week.
Once your ERP: Certificate of Completion application is processed by Career Center staff, you will be automatically enrolled in the program as well as a Canvas group. Only Career Center staff can enroll a student in the program and Canvas group after reviewing and approving the ERP: Certificate of Completion application, submitted through a NoleNetwork account.
- Students must register for ERP: Certificate of Completion via their NoleNetwork account before the end of that FSU academic semester's end of the 7th week that they will be completing their experiential learning opportunity to earn certificate recognition.
- The experiential learning engagement must be a career-related experience (paid or unpaid) through which students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting.
- Students must enter into the experiential learning engagement with intentional learning goals (minimum of 3 learning goals).
- Duties and responsibilities of the experiential learning engagement must be clearly outlined.
Successful completion of all 4 steps of ERP: Certificate of Completion results in a virtual certificate of completion being uploaded to your NoleNetwork account documents section.
PLEASE NOTE: Requests for enrollment in ERP for students studying at FSU on a F-1 or J-1 Visa is contingent upon approval by the Center for Global Engagement (CGE)’s International Student Advisor Team. When enrollment in ERP is approved by a CGE International Advisor in conjunction with CPT for off-campus opportunities, International Students must utilize the ERP-Transcript Notation option only. When submitting your application please choose the transcript notation experience type.
ERP: Transcript Notation
ERP: Transcript Notation is facilitated through a virtual, zero semester-hour course. The virtual, zero semester-hour course is graded on the S/U scale and will appear of your transcript in that format as well.
- Please note: FSU institutional policy indicates that students will be charged an administrative credit fee equal to their current tuition rate of one (1) credit hour, UNLESS they are also enrolled in other credit-bearing courses at FSU during the same semester.
FSU students must enroll in ERP: Transcript Notation via their NoleNetwork account before the end of that FSU academic semester's official Drop/Add period (For Summer Semesters, the program runs twice, concurrently with the Summer Session A and Session C sessions.)
Once your ERP: Transcript Notation application is processed by Career Center staff, you will be automatically enrolled in the virtual, zero semester-hour course SDS 3802: Experiential Learning. This course is a *hidden* course; FSU students are unable to self-enroll in the course. Only Career Center staff can enroll a student in the course and Canvas course site after reviewing and approving the ERP: Transcript Notation application, submitted through a NoleNetwork account.

Who is my Supervisor and what do they do?
A Supervisor for your experience is someone who can verify your work and complete evaluations for you throughout the semester. You cannot list yourself, a direct family member or another undergraduate student as your supervisor.
If the experience is an entrepreneurial opportunity where you are the only employee, it is recommended that you reach out to a mentor, business partner, or client you have a strong relationship with. If the opportunity is with a family business, it is recommended that a non-family employee be listed as the supervisor or a mentor. If the opportunity is with a student organization, it is recommended that the faculty advisor be listed as the supervisor.
The Supervisor will approve your experience, develop at least three goals alongside you, and fill out several evaluations.
When should I enroll in ERP?
Students must have an experiential learning opportunity (internship, research, creative, leadership, or significant community service engagement) BEFORE enrolling in ERP.
ERP: Certificate of Completion - You must submit your application for enrollment prior to the end of the 7th week of that semester.
ERP: Transcript Notation - You must submit your application for enrollment prior to the end of that semester's drop/add deadline.

Experience Recognition Program (ERP) Supervisors
A Supervisor for students in the Experience Recognition Program (ERP) will approve a student’s experience, develop at least three goals alongside you, and fill out several evaluations. It is not an increase in work for the supervisor who already is working with a student in an experience like an internship or part-time job.
The evaluations are for the benefit of the student and the supervisor in order to kick-start discussion on performance, skills, and professional development. A low score in a skill during an evaluation does not mean a “lower grade” for the student. It is up to the supervisor to discuss areas to be worked on with the student in a 1-on-1 meeting.
It is mainly the student’s responsibility to collect the correct information, such as email and phone number, of the supervisor, AND to inform them to the best of their ability about ERP. The ERP Team is available to answer any supervisor’s questions at 850-644-9772 or cc-erp@fsu.edu.
