Describe your job search process. What were some challenges you faced or things you learned from the experience?

At the beginning of my job search it was difficult to narrow down exactly what I was looking for. After looking at multiple companies and positions, I realized that a leadership program could be an amazing experience that could help me figure out exactly what I wanted to do. I learned that I need to embrace challenges as they come and learn from my mistakes.

If you used any Career Center services, resources, or events to obtain your job offer, what were they? How did they support your application process?

I found the resume workshops at The Career Center very useful, they really helped me perfect my resume for the technology field. I also did a mock interview right before my actual interview, this gave me practice with answering questions successfully.

Have you participated in any experiential learning opportunities (Internships, volunteer experiences, research, leadership roles, military experience, etc.)? How have these prepared you for moving into a full-time role?

I participated in an internship program at Coach in New York City as the IT Business Solutions Intern. This position gave me so many valuable experiences working in the IT and business field. I was able to talk about my experiences and what I learned during the interviews which gave me a competitive edge to the competition.

What advice do you have for current students that will be launching a full-time professional job search?

Advice I would give students who are launching full-time job searches is to keep an open mind.
