Describe the steps you took to obtain your internship.

To obtain my internship, I first went to the Resume workshops hosted by The Career Center. Then, I designed and printed out my own business cards. Before the Seminole Futures Career Fair, I looked at the companies that were going to be there and researched them ahead of time. Finally, I attended the Seminole Futures Career Fair and landed my internship!

What was a typical day like "on the job?"

A typical day "on the job," as a PepsiCo Sales Management Intern is not your 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. office job. Every day is different, and you are constantly on the go. Whether it's supporting your frontline in the market, maintaining relationships managers, or building displays. You are actively in the market representing a huge brand, working to exceed sales goals, and constantly working to meet the needs of our customers.

What are some major takeaways from your experience? How will these help prepare you for the next step after graduation?

I learned that I absolutely loved having an active typical workday, and I could not imagine myself having a 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. job in a cubicle. This experience prepared me to look for similar jobs after graduation with the same type of dynamic and active environment. I also loved being apart of such a large company and the amount of opportunities and connections that have followed. 

Did this experience help clarify your career path? If yes, how so?

This experience clarified my career path a lot because it turned out to be a role I could see myself in after graduation. It led me to look for similar roles within the consumer packaged goods industry, and it has led me to accept my full-time offer after graduation with Target as an Exec in Training (Assistant Store Manager).
