Explore Majors and Careers

Choosing a major or occupation is often one of the first career decisions you will encounter as you move through the career development process. The Career Center understands that this choice can be both exciting and challenging to navigate, so we have developed a variety of tools and services to help you evaluate your values, interests, and skills and make a career decision.

Explore Occupations Online

There are many resources available that can assist you in finding information about occupations. Information on salaries, job outlook, typical work duties, training and education required, and skills needed can be valuable when looking into particular occupations. The library also has Computer Assisted Career Guidance (CACGs) programs including:

You may also access some resources over the Internet to get information about occupations that interest you, such as:

Other privately sponsored sites may also contain occupational information. When accessing these sites, be critical of the information and confirm that the source of the information is reliable. To access these resources or to get assistance deciding which resources would work best for you, come to The Career Center and speak to a Career Advisor.
